This is a really great CD with a lot of variety to the songs. If you enjoy just a few of their songs, you'll enjoy the whole CD.
I love the whole cd.I am one of those people that if I like just one song I buy the cd, I do listen to them all of the way thru, sometimes you find other songs you like sometimes you don't. I was hoping to like more than USE SOMEBODY and SEX ON FIRE. Ready for more. Wow. This is one of the best cd's I have bought in a while. Did not have to worry about that with Kings of Leon, The whole record is awesome.
Whether you prefer old bluesy stuff like the Rolling Stones or newer stuff like Arctic Monkeys, etc. Despite the nice production, the album still has a certain grittiness to it that makes it seem to jump out of your speakers. Simply put, a fantastic CD. this should appeal to one and all.
This album was released just as I was begining a new job and was a great companion during my new longer commute to work. Every release from the Kings of Leon has been purchased by myself, if not on the day of release, certainly within the first week of it hitting shelves.Into the Night was no different, however my review comes many months later. Again the band built upon the new directions found in their 3rd album while still retaining the heartfelt swagger of the 1st and 2nd and you can be guaranteed I will be there up front waiting for their 5th ablum.I also love that this album has brought the band to be recognised by a much wider audience and are now part of the fabric and fashion of today, for some bands this would mark the end of creativity, however i'm confident the Kings of Leon are going to continue to surprise us all.
U2 might be able to hand the pop-rock baton over to these gents. The Kings of Leon, however, have a gritty, gravelly sound, actually know how to play a variety of instruments and can produce an album with three or more songs you might want to hear more than once. Kings of Leon is a refreshing addition to the rock world. I wasn't sure what to make of the direction of 21st-century rock until I discovered these guys. I mean, life was okay with Jimmy Eat World and Coldplay, but those bands have a bit of a sanitized sound. "Closer," "Crawl," "Sex on Fire," "Use Somebody," "Manhattan" and "Be Somebody" are all good to great songs, with "Revelry," "Notion," "17," "Cold Desert" and "Frontier City" ringing in as "okay." "I Want You" has WAY too much cowbell (MORE COWBELL).
